Federal emergency workers were forced to pause their hurricane recovery efforts in North Carolina after National Guard troops reportedly discovered trucks of armed militia, who were “out hunting FEMA.” Many believe social media misinformation regarding Hurricane Helene may be fueling such safety threats.
