HOW TO HEM YOUR JEANS | sew&tell

Are you tired of rolling up your jeans because they are too long? Here's 2 ways to hem them at home :D

By far the best hemming video after searching for almost an hr! quick question tho. can we use any type of sewing machine for method 2? Another video stated we cant use "modern" ones for hemming jeans unless we wanna break em😖

Great job lady. The only thing I do differently is I sew it from the front of the pant being that i use a top-stitch needle, and so the gold thread stands out very well.

This is a good version of shortening jeans. I thought that you might cut out the seams so that it would not be so thick when sewing over.
What machine are you using?
Are you using a heavy duty machine?
As i thought to do this, then this is what would be used.

Two additional points to consider when deciding which method you might try: 1) If you like the distressed look of the original hem like v1, but you prefer the clean lines of a proper new hem like v2, just remember that after several wearings and washings, that new hem will start to distress naturally on its own. 2) Some jeans might have a pronounced outward flare, or an inward taper. In those cases, the original hem might not fit properly at the new location.
