This is indeed a sad story that is also inspiring me to not complain about my problems but be grateful for all the family and friends I have that are always there for me. This poor soul had nothing and no one for her whole life...not even food to eat! Unfathomable! I don't understand how all those people in her town could live with themselves after she starved to death. "There but for the grace of God go I." Thank you for telling her story. It needed telling.

apparently the story continues that they were forcibly separated forever and she shortly thereafter died of starvation (depression) in isolation. so it's even more heart breaking than where this left off. that poor poor woman and her poor son. it's too sad
