As we finish our first full year of nomadic travel and living, we find ourselves checking out of our 2-bedroom flat in the South of France where we explored several famous towns and restaurants over the past week - and taking a private car on a 7-HOUR DRIVE to the rolling hills and vineyards of Siena in Tuscany, Italy. Inspirato has hooked us up with a sprawling hilltop villa where we’ll be living for the next week.

Il Campanile is an estate comprised of three luxury villas: Villa Belezza, with 3 bedrooms and 3 and half bathrooms; Villa Collina, a 4700 square foot former castle with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, and our 2-bedroom home, Villa Villetta. It’s possible to reserve all 3 for a huge family or friends get-together, but even one villa makes for a great group venue. Watch until the end of this video for a complete walk-through of the two other massive villas.

ABOUT US.

We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil's ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week—from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.

Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline—it’s just the new, global way of life.

Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.

We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities. So please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing so that you can stick with us for the long haul.

husband speaking - here I am again, The Villa was fascinating and so much history - It must have been a major project to add all the modern amenities. Time 16:05, that kitchen is
way too small for me, I would not want to eat in there, just looking at the picture makes me feel claustrophobic. Then you see how huge most all the other room are, ?Time 23:04 your
camera technique as you come down the stairs is so smooth that it seems like you are floating down, very nice touch. Definitely one of your best stories.

Fun video, but I have to correct you on something: The exposed walls are from the medieval era, but at that time they would not have been exposed, they would have been plastered and whitewashed or painted a single hue. Documentation suggests this was done beginning from about 1100 and very possibly earlier. The cinematic view we have of dark, damp rocky walls in the castle interior are not accurate. After plastering, they would be decorated with painted patterns - birds, flowers, geometric patterns of the era, or fleur-de-lis (yes, in Italy too). Some of the walls would have been hung with huge tapestries (keeps heat in the room in winter) .
