For anyone wondering:

A 'Tachyon' is a theoretical particle. It has never been observed to exist anywhere.
Having said that, if they were to exist, technically, we could send messages through time.

That makes sense, it's like dividing 1/0. You can use a graph and approach it from smaller positive and negative numbers but never reach it precisely even if you are more or less than it.

If I understand correctly, you can't accelerate an object to the speed of light because the fast it goes, the greater it's mass increases. The closer to the speed of light it gets, the greater the mass. So, if an object were to reach the speed of light, its mass would be infinite, which is impossible.

Think about it this way. Photons have no mas and travel at the speed of light which is also Planck speed. Planck speed is the maximum speed at which information can travel. Because of this, when photons are created by a star light years away and travel to Earth they don't experience the passage of time. To them, no time has passed at all. The information regarding the passage of time is travelling at the same speed as they are and they only experience all of this time once they collide with and object and stop. Tachyons travel faster than light and are constantly colliding with information from the most recent to the least recent. That means backwards!
