Well the fail box wasn’t coming from the Nikon Z50 II, it was a camera lens combo I had high hopes for.

The Nikon Z50II is truly an excellent camera.😊

I had 3 Yongnuo manual speedlights that i used off camera shooting furniture brochures for years, really abusing them, and they never let me down once, so I'm not surprised they're making great lenses too. I preferred those flashes to my Nikon ones, really simple and bulletproof.

You all probably know this by now but... it would appear (from DPReview forum and Viltrox's firmware update release note) that firmware v1.02 for the Viltrox 56mm f/1.7 fixes the issue of the lens reverting to MF after the Z50ii wakes up from stand-by (which may have been the problem experienced in this video) -- and Viltrox has updated most/all of their lenses that were experiencing the same issue. I can't test this as I have neither the Z50ii nor the lens, but I have read reports that it is fixed. Would be interesting to see if anyone else can confirm this as I have been thinking of getting both Z50ii and the Viltrox 56/1.7

I just bought a Zf (love it) and now seeking something smaller and lighter. I’ve invested in a fair amount of S glass. Will these lenses work well with the Z50II? Just at a crop FOV? I think I may be better off with the Z5 or Z6II? I shoot portraits in studio and natural light. Don’t need speed. Need a sensor (not processor) that will be close to my Zf. But I came over to Nikon Zf from Fuji ZT5. No fear or APS-C. But conundrum is fun Z50II vs venerable Z5 or Z6II. I’d love your thoughts. I LOVE the Zf but want a second Z body that won’t break my budget of about $1, 500. Beautiful photos as always!

I use the techart adapter for manual focus lenses on a z6. It worked well with the 55 1.2 and 90mm. they were f mount
The adapter that disapointed me was the megadap e to z.

The yognuoa is really surprising. I use it on a a7r4 f4 and f5.6 seem to be the sweet spot.

For m-mount to Z adaptor I have gone to the Voigtlander VM-Z Close Focus Adapter. Up front it ain't cheap, around $309. But it seems to improve not just close focusing but overall sharpness on a Voigtlander 40mm M- lens I have. I have had trouble adapting other M mount lenses to z mount as well, and will be doing more tests with the adaptor. And I have the Yongnuo 85 and totally agree. Stunning results.
