I have the Z50 II. It is not perfect but it is a very capable camera, especialy for its tiny yet ergnonomic size. I recommend the Z50 II for beginners, for advanced users and even for very experienced users. The Z50 II offers most photographers enough to consider getting it, especialy for the price. For me, the Z50 II is incredible fun even when I use DX kit lenses and shoot Jpeg. Very little scrap rate of unusable photos. Quick results. A lot of buttons with well thought-out placement. Higly configurable button functions and even menu options. Battery life however is short and the battery charge indicator not reliable. So the Z50 II is not perfect. But really good and a lot of fun to use.

The camera is great, the problem is the z lens lineup for apsc

people complain about old sensor 6-7years old. Sony alpha 6000 series has been using the same sensor from a6000-a6600 and zve10. youtubers were raving about it over the internet. Fuji 26mp use on fuji xt3 in 2018 and its also 7years old and people are exciting about xm5 and xs20 which share same sensor. I guess if the company has money for these youtubers, they can turn a dslr into hype over the internet.

For me, this only makes sense if you already have a fullframe Nikon Z body. Because the whole Nikon Z ecosystem is based on fullframe, and sensor stabilisation. But if you want "more reach", and don't want to get a Z8 (because maybe it's too expensive) this might fit the bill. Alongside a Z5 or Z6 II it could be a nice combination. A slow camera for general photography, and a fast crop camera with great AF for things like wildlife. The only downside being that the battery is different.

But I think many people seem to like this camera. So I'm hopeful that this might prompt Nikon to take APS-C more seriously.

Can you lower the audio to shut off the internal camera preamp (like in canon cameras) so you can use it with a preamp like beachtech with regular microphones?

I think about getting a Z5 with the 24 200mm kit or the z50 II with the 16 50 and the 50 250mm. Which one would you take? Id like to go hiking and traveling and make pictures of Landscapes especcially in Sunsets and also maybe start astro photography. I think if I go for specific shots Ill go with an stative and else, without so maybe IBIS doesnt matter idk what do you mean? And furthermore id like to go for a spontanious shots of animals if theres possibility. Its my first Camera and will be my only one for now maybe Ill get a FF in some years.
