I felt stuck in my early-20's. My wife barely spoke English, and we lived in a one-bedroom apartment with no furniture other than a mattress on the floor and a rickety wicker chair. We were using a credit card to buy groceries at one point and borrowing $50 at a time from my mom. I got turned onto self-improvement books and we started pushing. Years later, we both have degrees and good jobs, and we're now 13 days from starting baby step 6. It's amazing looking back on those crazy times.

I started working fast food and then went on to driving a forklift in a warehouse. Fast forward 5.5 years later, i'm entering the last year of my masters in engineering, and just accepted a full time job offer at a firm i've been wanting to get in for the past 3 years. I was never the fastest running, and no where near the smartest cookie. It's called work ethic and grit. Only in America

"You're never stuck. The only place you get stuck is between your ears." Dave Ramsey
Brilliant, I never get sick of Dave's timeless advice.

Two years ago I started listening to Dave.
At first I thought he was a quack.
Then I heard him tell someone to sell
Their car and I was hooked.
At the time I had $11k cc balance.
Now I have zero and cut it up.
Now I have $22k in savings.
I’m all in

I cut out a friend who discouraged me constantly and told me ALL the time that I can't do anything. I cut him off and I'm better off without him and showing myself and others that I CAN! =)

I was a young single mother without much family support. I decided to go back to school and the lady I babysat for said I could not do it. I did go back! I now have a BS in nursing and am a registered nurse. I have been able to support my son just fine. During school we were really broke but I knew it was temporary and never felt poor. I was just in transition. One of my many embarrassing memories was that I had only 2 pairs of pants while I was in school. I rotated them with different shirts. I remember one fall I only had $20 to buy my son school clothes. I found him several shirts and shorts at the clearance rack at Walmart and they were fine for a few months ( it was still hot in Southern CA). After I got married I went back and got a Masters in Public Health in Health Education. With the confidence from all my schooling I have started a YouTube cooking channel (for my dad!). I had to keep learning new skills to do that to. I am still learning new things all the time! New knowledge and new skills opens new opportunities!

I went from living in a motor home in the driveway of a farm cleaning rooms for $7.50/hr to working in the Pentagon making a six figure income less than 12 years later. Somebody please tell me it can't be done.

Anna Marie Campbell came to USA
from Jamaica when she was 18.
No money no education no friends no connections. She was starting from scratch.
She applied for a part time job at
Home Depot and got hired. She worked hard and loved her job. She stuck with it thru thick and thin and got promoted.
Now 30yrs later she is in charge of
ALL USA Home Depot stores and gets paid about $2, 000, 000 a year.

I really needed to hear this today. So low and down today after finding out the company I work for has totally changed my hours, to something I dont want. Felt trapped and "stuck". You have inspired me to keep going and keep my head high. Finished baby step 1 yesterday, got to keep going. Thankyou Dave, for helping me as a single mom keep going.

Very inspirational and encouraging. I need to play this in the morning. Makes me feel a bit foolish when I just wait for things to happen.

Dave you are a good guy, many people would tell this man his life is ruined because he had children with the wrong woman, but you try to encourage him. His children are not a hindrance, its exactly the opposite, now he has something to fight for bigger than him.

I started with $33, 000 debt at the beginning of the year. I’m on baby step 2. Wife is full time nursing student at the local JC. I have $12, 000 in debt left. Beans and rice never tasted so good!

My absolute favorite Dave Ramsey clip period. I've listened to it through some very hard times and it always seems to reach down to my soul and hit hard. Makes me laugh and cry the same time when he starts yelling LOL
