Oberheim OB-Xa - 15 minutes pure analog sounds - part 1/3

I had a long and joyful jam of 45 minutes with my Oberheim OB-Xa. I decided to split the video into three parts. Here is part 1/3. Is this the beginning of a new series? Please let me know and leave your comment in the section below.
I´ve used a bit of delay (Behringer mixer built in FX) and reverb (Valhalla vintage verb).
Enjoy the music !

One of the best OB-Xa demo I've listen so far. Thanks for share! ;-)

Sounds really amazing! Great work! The Obxa is definitely one of the most exciting synths.

Thanks for this. I can't wait for the UB-Xa to finally become available in the coming months...

For me the oberheim x and xa are my favourite synths. Really looking forward to the ub-xa. Just hope behringer can capture that OB goodness.

The last of the classic OB sound before the introduction of the OB-8 which was not the same. I love the OB-Xa, but I cherish my OB-X and FVS. It would be awesome if Tom Oberheim would reissue the OB-X and Xa, but the cost would most likely be too high. Most people today expect something for nothing and complain when a synthesizer costs more than a $1, 000. One can't expect a high quality instrument with excellent build quality for next to nothing. The classic Oberheim's will go down in history and continually rise in price.

No such thing as a bad sound from an Oberheim :)

Nice job and thanks for sharing this with us. This sound @ 15:47… it seems like such a 'simple', 'basic' patch that a lot of today's synths ought to be able to make… but they don't. That's one of many textures that the OB-Xa offers up with ease. I have an OB-Xa. I also have an OB-6 from DSI/Sequential… it's a different architecture and filter vs the OB-Xa, and if what you want is the sound of an OB-Xa, the OB-6 is not going to deliver… unless you don't have an ear for this stuff. Synth sounds are only worth spending time with if they move you, inspire you… and the OB-Xa does that in spades… remember how Oberheim poly-synths inspired Eddie Van Halen to write a whole new crop of songs in a totally different direction while still sounding like Van Halen.

The one synth that did it all, back then. Nothing comes close to that sound. Nothing.

Youtubers with an OBXA.... PLEASE do a full review of this amazing synth... Go thru the controls, what you love about it, it's strengths/ limitations etc. There's not much of anything like that & we're dying for the UB XA clone... you'd get a million views!

Fantastic sounds and a great performance, reminds me of Cluster in places. The sawtooth on the OBXa sounds very similar to the Prophet 600 which I guess is not surprising as both Synths use CEM3340s. Subscribed to ensure I don’t miss parts 2 and 3

What's that yellow button at the left most section left to volume?

Listening to your other demos of OB-XA right after listening to this (maybe not the same FX were used) the real one is less brittle more polished on top and fuller in the bottom end and pulls on my gut brain emotional strings better ;) I don't know, but my gut intuition tells me it's not quite the same experience but close. In a busy mix, it might not matter but as a stand alone play there is difference so far basing on your videos imho.
