People underestimate blackbeard's haki, but he was the first one to even mention "haki" in this scene, and in Japanese using the word "haki" for "will" is very unusual, so oda has already hinted teach is again hiding something..

It's really cool that blackbeard in the bar actually meant that he was thinking 30 Million was too low for luffy instead off to much.

Blackbeard and his crew are cool as fuck. Oda went crazy when designing them in every aspect. So much sauce from such simple designs. So striking and memorable, just raw asf pirate designs through and through. Jaya introduced them perfectly.

No diss to other manga but they tend to make everyone pretty, Oda doesn't give a fuck. He will make important/strong characters look as weird as he wants. Yet he somehow is able to do this in a concise manner that is still able to make them look cool/threatening, no matter how unconventional.

BB and his crew are one of his best creations and it's not hard to see why

When we found out that this guy is Blackbeard and the others are his crew. They gave the feeling that these guys aren't meant to be trifled with and these guys are Pirates in a bad way. Many arcs later, they prove it! They are dangerous!
