Thank you so much for showing the devastation in Marshall NC and not just Asheville. Most residents have not been able to communicate with the outside world. As the days pass we will see the life-changing devastation in these small rural communities.

These are only the birth pains unfortunately. What a tragedy America needs to come together as a nation and help one another like never before.

Unfortunately, the death toll numbers will continue to rise as more areas are searched.

With no home getting electricity back is nothing to cheer about 😢

The way investment banksters on Wall Street want Americans to live isn't working. Too much farmland has been turned into subdivisions and towns. There's a reason you farm the bottom land and live on the high ground. It's because lowlands flood so often. If you lose a crop, you can replant. If you lose your home, your job, and even loved ones, that's not something you can recover from. Things have to change. We have to return to sanity.

First of all every life matters, whether in the gang infested urban area or the rural valley. So I'll offer condolences without recrimination.
May God bless you in your time of need.

Hurricanes are not political and they don't only cause problems on the coasts. Wildfires are not political, and they happen in both red Texas and blue California. Enough with the division and anger.
There will be help to recover, but it will take time and lots of money from your nationwide brothers and sisters. Let's work together, not against one another.

That's terrible for the people.

Nature doesnt't negotiate and doesn't make compromises! It will always win....

The fossil companies should pay for this disaster!

If have to say, we were so lucky here in South Carolina. Losing electricity is nothing compared to what happened in Florida and Tennessee and North Carolina. God protected us.

I've experienced Helene personally, but I'm very fortunate it didn't affect me that bad here in South Carolina. However, in upper state of South Carolina like Anderson and Greenville, they weren't as fortunate. Likewise, for Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and most recently, North Carolina too.

I live in Asheville and I can’t believe how much destruction I’ve witnessed. I’ve lived in Western North Carolina since the day I was born. The last time we’ve had the biggest flooding was back in 2004 it was Hurricane Ivan and Francis. I have a friend of mine that nearly got washed away in the creek he lived near but thankfully he lived but his grandmother is missing and they are still searching for her. I went to the hospital where my friend is at and he lost everything including his grandmother.
