My cat does this. He's grinding his teeth. He's done this because he has a tooth that's at a tilt, but the vet said that it's not a problem.

My cat does this EXACT thing! It's my own fault. Every time she would root around for treats that might have gotten pushed under her food bowl, I would give her treats. Now, she does this as a way to tell me she wants treats.

My cat drags his paw on his plate after eating to “bury it”. Neutered but humps his favorite pillow while ‘making biscuits’. Neurotically weird and wonderfully wild ❤😻❤️

I think JG needs to put a request out for videos of cats doing this to figure out how common air snacking might be. Fascinating. I've seen people pranking their poor doggos with air treats which the dogs then appear to chew on, but cats doing it of their own accord is very intriguing,

My mini-panther does this! It was usually when he was feeling happy but he also did it when he seemed like he was spaced out or lost in thought. I was wondering if other cats did it too. His teeth were fine, so I just figured it was one of those weird & endearing cat things! 😄

Yes, I’ve seen this in a family cat. We couldn’t eat in front of him because he would just be chewing right with us as we ate. But no food in his mouth. Just going through the motions of eating. As he was my older sister’s cat, I couldn’t say if he was truly hungry or not.

My cat Jax tries to cover his leftover food and water by burying it with air. I read that this is instinctual... He doesn't want anyone to bother his food and water 😂🙀🤯
