Scientists have shown that it will take no more than 400 qubits to crack the RSA-2048 key, which already fits into modern capabilities.
A group of Chinese scientists demonstrated the possibility of cracking sufficiently long RSA keys using modern quantum computers.

The researchers described the first-ever cracking of a 48-bit key by a system of just 10 superconducting qubits. To crack an RSA-2048 key, no more than 400 qubits would be required, which is already in the range of modern quantum qubit capabilities.
