Voldemort's death between the film and the book.
In the film, his body evaporated and what was left of him is dust. In the book, it was in the Great Hall, when Voldemort cast the killing curse against Harry, it bounced off and killed him instead, and He Who Shall Not Be Named collapsed to the ground, a somewhat normal death.

In the books, it makes so much more sense. Everyone knows that Voldemort is dead. Everyone is there to see it.

I like the books. It shows how he was human, which he hated.

In the book " His lifeless body hit the ground with a mundane finality ". Voldemort couldn't become a God . He didn't die from Expelliarmus, but his own killing curse. And just like a regular person encountering the killing curse, he died in the exact same way : no mark, no special effect, no pixie dust . His own short-sightedness killed him, he was nothing more than a regular human ( albeit an evil genius), he never became special as he wanted to be . It was a proof of the futility of everything he did.

I get why people see that the book death is better. “A normal death for a normal man” which was the one thing he hated and I get that. I still think it’s a masterful ending but he genuinely wasn’t normal. He was resurrected through evil means, his power was unmatched by ANYONE in the series. The movie death with Lilly’s theme playing in the back as he turns to ash (not dust nor did he evaporate) he was still a physical element. His body was made from “flame” in the goblit of fire. His body turning to ash and Lilly’s theme playing in the back; he tries to scream but he is to physically exhausted from fighting and losing nagini. He has nothing left and he was beat by an ordinary man. His death in the movie yes I agree was meant for cinematic purposes but it’s still one of the greatest endings in all of movies and it still made sense. It also show cases he has lost his humanity. Yes Voldemort is “human” but all that’s he’s done, how he was reborn, what he took from people, forming death eaters. He has no sense of humanity left he is pure evil. Which is what the movie showcased best

The movie was trying to visually represent that he had ripped himself into so many pieces that all it took was one little blow to shatter him like glass. I like both endings for the medium they’re portrayed in.

I think the book battle of hogwarts was the best

They put his corpse in a different room so the dead good guys were safe

Also in the film no-one sees it, so Voldemort's assumed dead but no body and no-one saw it, sound familiar?

I think both interpretations are good!
In the movie we have seen him as an incorporeal being, then a pseudo baby and finally again gain human form. The disintegration shows that he is destroyed for good. No corpse to be revived no spirit form that leaves the ashes he is gone forever.
In the books his death is a mockery of his distain for humanity. Voldemort is denied his eternal life. In the end there is no Voldemort, just the corpse of Tom Riddle left to rot and decay like any other human being. No magical demigod just the empty shell of a broken man!

In the book, I think they were circling and staring each other for like 10 minutes to. lol

I just instantly grew acceptance of the movie finish, I thought it should’ve been more dramatic with a sought of bang but it’s better more dramatic than the books

People always compare between the book and the film, wkwkwk. Let me tell you, the book let the reader to imagine every each of the sentence, but the film they need dramatic scene to make the watcher impress. Both is good, can't be compared.

To those saying book version is better, try portraying that on screen and see how cinematic it looks. Most probably, it will look ordinary.

I've been reading the comments and 99.9% of people like the book version better but tbh I like the movie version better. Voldy evaporating and turning to dust shows how was not really human so he portrayed a non-human death. Idc if you don't agree, it's just my opinion. I love the book version too but I like the movie version of voldemorts death a little more
