I really enjoyed visiting Disney and would love to go back, but recently, it has become so complicated to pre-plan every detail to try and 'enjoy' as much as possible of a VERY expensive vacation. Seems so many people want to go that it's no longer about it being a Magical experience and more of a frenetic money harvesting stress-fest.

Very good advice as always, AJ! I gotta say a word about rain. At AK in February 2015 27:44, exiting Festival of the Lion King, a downpour began. My group was prepared but a lot of people just left the park. We made a beeline for Kilimanjaro Safaris, and by the time we boarded our vehicle the rain and stopped and lots of animals were out. I know that was 8 years ago, and things are much different now, but the animals seem to like to come out after it’s rained (and is generally cooler.) Also, if you’re an adult with a backpack, I consider the ponchos Disney sells a good use of money. They are big, well-made, and should last several trips.

I agree with the after hours events. We went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween in Sept 2022. We paid more for the tickets than the regular park ticket but we didn’t have to buy Genie+ and we only waited 20min for 7 Dwarves MT. We hit all the things we wanted to do and rode several rides twice.

I’m glad I watched this before I booked my trip. I was planning for Thanksgiving weekend since me and my son are both off of work and school. It completely slipped my mind that it would be a peak time to go when the crowds would be outrageous!😳

Check to find out if there is a cheer or dance competition going on as well. We went in November one year and it was loaded with teenage dance teams!

Did you mention that the GNHs often have a resort fee per night! It can be as much as $30, that combined with inferior park shuttles may make it not as worth while to stay at one.
