In the meantime, several of the brains have recommended Sectograph :)

Here's how I plan out my day: have a to do list I rarely stick to, procrastinate something super important, have a mental breakdown over not having completed that super important thing weeks ago, begin that super important thing through tears of stress, realise its easy to continue once ive begun and finish it.

I try to have three priorities in a day.
First priority is something urgent, unpleasant or mentally exhausting (say bills, taxes, that one phone call or email I've put off forever). I'm allowed to spend 15 minutes with it, no more. If I've not finished by the time the timer goes off, no problem, I'll continue the next day. If I spend that 15 minutes crying and shaking in a corner because I just CANNOT do it that day, that's fine too. When the time's up I don't have to worry about it for the next 24 hours.
The next two priorities have to do with study/work and pets/home. These I do after the urgent one. Not everything gets done everyday. But I've not ran out of socks yet.

One think I've found helpful when scheduling is to always give myself more than one option for each block of time. 10-11 am can be Coding / Reading Essay / Exercising, and then 11-12 can be Gaming / Napping / Reading fiction. This makes it so I don't think about a schedule as a shackle but instead just a selection of important things that I can choose from ad-hoc instead of wasting time on things that are not important (social media)

"Or our brains just straight up rebel and are like, 'I'm not doing this right now.' " OMG It ME! I can't tell you how much it means to me to know that this happens to other people, that it's a pattern for ADHD brains and not just a personal failing of mine. Thank you so much for this channel.

No WAY this is so well timed. I’m just beginning higher education and this will be a colossal help, thanks

Apple watch is the best ADHD friendly piece of tech, simply because there is a button to make your phone beep and flash no matter where it is. I NEVER LOSE MY PHONE

I was talking about this with my mother this morning, about how a lack of structure was hindering me.

“Apple Watch was an impulse buy and it integrates very well”. The watch was the same for me prior to this and it is life changing and so helpful! I’m excited to try the app.

I'm super new to the channel but I've noticed that she keeps her videos short and it gives me huge relief cause I avoid watching long videos even though I wanna watch them so badly.

Online classes has me stressed and struggling to get on task and stay focused, and I’ve been thinking I need to figure out a way to schedule my day so this may be just what I need! Thank you!!!

This was a great timing my schedule has been something so overwhelming lately and I think this will really help. I like the rock analogy and the reassurance of not having to get everything done but just the 3 main things. I appreciate you :)

That fire alarm blooper was the perfect example of an ADHD brain being disrupted. Lol

I've been using an Apple watch too! I use an Outlook calendar because it's color-coded, adjustable, sends alerts, and shows me visual time blocks rather than just the numbers and both have been great, especially when they're paired. It's exactly what you said: rather than looking at my phone and getting distracted by a Twitter notification, I just get a buzz on my wrist! I'm glad it's working for other ADHD brains too :)

Definitely going to download this and try it. Also love the blooper section.
