Hey! Found your channel not too long after looking into Data Science and its been a real help trying to navigate this whole new world (I'm currently CAD Draftsperson). My goodness is this a deep subject.

Just sayin thanks for the Videos - they've really helped put a pathway down for someone with 0 prior work experience/education in Data processing or any programing languages. Its a tough road ahead but i'm excited for the change.

I agree, DE concepts arent commonly taught in school, although I've seen some schools recently introducing a few big data courses at an undergrad level. Getting an internship is probably the best way to gain experience as it has helped me learn a whole bunch.

However, I've also noticed in many companies outside FB & AMZN, the DE role is basically a software engineer with a Data Infra focus - which is probably a more flexible option to enter the field if they're not analytics focused. Great video!

Yeah, I rarely see entry-level data enginer jobs posted, especially in small countries. I think fresh grad should have experiences in Database Admin/Software Engineering (Backend) first

That's true. I think it is more about luck too. I started with SQL for few months in my first job then just shifted to Spark and it started my data engineering journey.
