Is the Data Engineering Role the Top Data Role?

Let's cover a few reasons why the data engineer might be the role for you.

Let's discuss the fastest and most affordable approach to attaining your for role as a data analyst.

There are two core paths on LogikBot. One for the data analyst role and one for the machine learning engineering role.

I've added the data analyst role recently because machine learning has become so difficult to break into. If you're new to IT, I'd highly recommend this path. You can be in a real-world data analsyt role in under a year if you really apply yourself. LogikBot is the most affordable and fastest way to attain this role. The platform even has an exam simulator for preparing for the exam.

For the data analyst role, you take two courses then prepare for and pass exam PL-300. This exam, PL-300, is the Microsoft Certified PowerBI Data Analyst Certification.

If you're in a shortcut role, then there's an entire path laid out for learning machine learning. The platform used by Uber and Microsoft. I worked at both companies. The courses are real-world and comprehensive. This is not the easy way. There is no easy way. This is one of the few platform that's offers a real-world approach to working in AI.

I really like your channel. I decided my next role will be a data engineering. I’m currently a senior data analyst and hope to transition to data engineering in about a year or 2. Unfortunately I did start a masters program before realizing I didn’t need it, but I made it this far and decided to finish it out. After I’m done with that I will pick up snowflake certs. Keep coming with the great videos.

Generative AI should be expected to elevate the data engineer role even more because you then need more and more infrastructure for AI apps.

As a Data Engineer focusing on working with Snowflake (among other things) this video is a pleasure to listen :) I don't earn such a big bucks yet (still am definitely in top 10% earners in my country) but maybe in few years.. :)

Thank you for listing all my reasons as to why I became a data engineer rather than a data scientist/ML engineer...

Sooner or later I'll be looking for a Junior Data Engineering role. My first engineering role from being an IT Technician. Apart from the basic foundations of Python/SQL how are the coding challenges within DE interviews? What should I focus on to be prepared at a junior level?

For background: I already started interacting with relational databases & non-relational(PostgreSQL, Mongo DB), pulling data from RESTful APIs, manipulating data & going through the ETL process then utilizing Apache Airflow. Now I'm looking into other tools to solidify my tech stack

BTW... I have been pushing my fellow "Faker Scientist" students to watch your videos for a healthy dose of reality. I took the class because I knew it would give me a decent foundation to build from and not "get me a job". Unfortunately I may return to my old career on a start up...

Hey Mike, your video was awesome! I was wondering, is Snowflake still the go-to platform these days, or have the top companies moved on to something else since the video was made a year ago?

Do you know if this is accurate for Europe (Sweden in my case) as well? ML engineer has been pushed a lot here, like the rest of the world, likely excessively, but idk. My country may be different from the US in that education is free and companies tend to focus a lot on people having degrees here.

Hey Mike , May I ask a peculiar question here ? I am a college drop out and currently working as a Data Engineer and I am also a GCP DE certified. Do you think that not having a bachelor's degree will affect my career in the long run when I am in my 40s and try to move into an architect/manager kind of role ? I don't see any values in the college degrees .

Hello, I am a graduate of software engineering. I really like to enter the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, but according to your words, it is difficult to find an entry-level job, so I tend to go for Android programming. Do you think having work experience in Android will make it easier to enter ML if I wanted to change my field later? 😍

There are no entry level jobs in machine learning, I get it. But are there entry level jobs in data engineering? Does the companies only take the one who have enough experience in data related jobs? I've just graduated and I am planning on taking some courses on data engineering, can you share your thoughts?
