I've been in the I.T. business for over 20 years. Machine Learning (ML) and AI are scary good right now. Yes, they are still making mistakes, but those days are numbered. I've seen AI write code in minutes that would have taken me hours or days.

This is just the technological march. How we handle the transition is the important part. Be prepared.

There are no more cashiers at my local walmart. Just self checkout. Things are getting wonky very fast.

That’s why TRADES are so important. AI will replace every job that requires a person to interact with a computer 100% for sure. But running plumbing, framing a house, hanging drywall, finish carpentry, HVAC system install, electrical. These jobs along with many others REQUIRE humans to complete the task

Glen I worked with a company in the 80's they were manufacturing. The jobs went from 300 down to 6 set up operators. They realized that if they went that way. Who was going to be able to purchase their products. So they shut it all down and kept at the level they were manufacturing before. The industry owners will eventually realize this when they wake up.

I do AI for a living. What is said here isnt actually a problem now. The biggest risk will be businesses and government that think they can replace more people with AI than they actual can.

Every job that a robot or AI takes from a human should be charged full social security taxes!

The problem is not wiping out the jobs. We've outsourced, offshored, downsized and automated for 50 years. The problem is that we have refused to address the financial equities in the process. Having 13 families at the top with everything and everyone else desperate will prove horrendously dangerous to all.
