A response to Douglas Murray and Jordan Peterson on what it is about society that is worth conserving. Douglas and Jordan are seeking a way to construct a positive vision for society, but they seem at a loss for what, in fundamental terms, this might include.

I like this style of video as I often find myself wondering how you or David (or Karl) would respond to some of this stuff. The lack of substance in most of these debates make them unwatchable, so thank you for your service in doing so.

You are on a roll with these responses lately and we're all the better for it! Please keep them coming

Although churches and paintings are important they are not the crux of the matter.

PS Nice to hear purloined again!

You paint the environment as this horrible, hostile place, to be destroyed if it gets in the way. But the natural world is also the only other system (besides the human mind) which has generated knowledge. For all we know, outside minds and the biosphere, it's just an infinite and dreadfully boring expanse of inanimate matter. So while it may be hostile (or at least indifferent), it may also be among the most interesting thing in perceivable existence besides ourselves and our creations. And I think that because of that possibility, we should do our best to preserve it.
