Beautiful Volare Road Runner . I would take this in a heartbeat compared to cars of today .

Dennis should have asked him if the horn went beep beep like the old Roadrunners 😂

I had a 79 Volare, 318 3speed overdrive. What a fun car to drive

Solid choice in 79', the window slats and spoiler look sweet. Didnt expect a slant 6 in a roadrunner

I ordered a 1979 Dodge Aspen R/T, same black and gold combo, but I got the "top" engine option: the E58 "police" 360 4bbl. I had a 71 Charger R/T at the time, 440 4bbl. My favorite muscle car ever? My 70 440 6bbl 5 speed Roadrunner that after 10 years I was forced to sell.

I've only had two run-ins with a Plymouth Volare. A middle-aged fella brought his Volare to my Goodyear for service once every couple of months. It supposedly had 500k on it on paper. He stopped coming in for a few months and showed up with a different Volare because his original one had finally blown up. A year later he and his son brought both to be serviced, with the first one having a freshly rebuilt engine. Guy loved his car! Minus the cigarette tar covering all the windows.. lol

My mom had a 77 Aspen. Baby blue with white vinyl interior, quarter top, t-tops, V8, auto on the floor. Loved that car. Would love to find another one like it

If your car doesn't idle, it's not because it's carbureted. It's because your carburetor is out of whack.

Love the car. I had an Aspen back in the day. They looked a lot a like. VERY NICE!!!

A couple of older mid-Michigan friends had Aspen R/Ts in the early ‘80s. Both 4 spds., 318s originally. One was swapped to a 340, the other got a 360. I ran into one of those friends recently, 40+ years later, at a funeral. He still has his, it’s well-preserved.

The Road Runner was a trim package starting in1976, yes you could order it with the slant 6 The performance looks without the high insurance costs. More people were concerned about Miles per gallon. I did see a 1978 road runner in Minnesota in June. Orange with a white vinyl roof. Thanks for posting this video 🏁🇺🇸

I had a 1977 Road Runner with T-tops. Too bad it wasn't in as good shape as this one. Built a 360 that would definitely push the limits of handling, but when you can shift into second at 6000 rpms, second was a hoot then... Never did get to max out into 3rd, probably a good thing. Gotta love those highway gears...

Wow, all those hoses on the engine! I love the slant six - it’s reliable and durable.

By the late 70's all a "muscle car" was was a stripe kit and Rally wheels.

Yes, the 225 Super Six was standard for the 1979 and 1980 Volare Road Runner and Aspen R/T. Was a sign of the times. The 1980 models were limited to a maximum of the 318 with the exception of police vehicles which could have the 360. An interesting note, in California, the 318 vehicles all had 4 barrel Carburetors and the 360 was not available.

I owned a '76 Volare with a 318 and manual 4 speed on the floor with overdrive. It got 26 MPG on trips. It had the Magnum 500 wheels and looked pretty sharp. It was a dependable car and the 4 on the floor always freaked people out....everyone thought cars like that were only automatics. It drove really well and even handled pretty well in the turns. Those Road Runner models looked good, but it was kind of an insult to the proud Road Runner heritage. Mopar's high performance days were long gone by 1979.

I thought I knew every road runner ever produced, until now. I can hear the Bee Gee's being played on the radio. Nice!
