What you should know before traveling to Russia!

When you met me on #90dayfiance, I know it seemed like I didn't have a clue about Russia. On the contrary, my time in Russia actually taught me a lot! I wanted to share what I learned with you. I hope this helps anyone planning to make the tip to this truly amazing country.

I was up late editing this guys, so the part where I discuss shoes is a little mixed up 🤪

If you’re Russian, let me know if there is something you think I should add. If you’re American, what surprised you the most?

You should make a separate video on Russian food 😂 I’m originally from Russia and my husband is American. He calls “shuba” a “purple salad” 🤣 I would say Americans should definitely try local Russian food but be aware of some strange combinations in a salad mix. We eat beef stroganoff with mashed potatoes, big with egg noodles 😆 Yours was fantastic, btw!

Also the famous “na zdorovye” is not really cheers. We do toast to smth when we drink.

Also there is no such thing as bar hopping. If you go somewhere you drink and stay at that place and you should eat!!!! We eat in the bars 😂

Travel by train vs flying in States is another topic. Should explain what is “Kupe” and “platskart”

I’m a huge fan of you guys and 90 days!

Thanks for sharing! Could you make a video about your job as an english teacher in Russia (how you got the job, what it was like, etc)? I'm very interested in that!

Love this content! I’ve only been to the Netherlands, but hope to do some Eastern European countries once the restrictions lift. These are great tips. Loving watching your videos💜💜

Thank you for sharing. I was in Saint Petersburg for a summer semester in 2009. Doesn't sound like much has changed. Especially about how dirty the street is, even in summer. I still sometimes miss it, though.

The awkward American half smile is totally me 🥴😂 I’m glad you told us about how important it is to greet everyone bc I’m notorious for sneaking out even back home 😂

Omg! You’re so right about how heartfelt Russian congrats are. We would get a novel of well wishes from my husband’s side of the family and my family is just like “👍 Congrats!” 😂

Oh God, those migration cards...😣 When we moved to Russia, my dad used to have so many problems with the police cuz he kept losing those tiny pieces of paper. I’ve got no idea why this should be so complicated☹️
