She was 15 when she went to Syria. A child that was groomed via the internet having been targeted. I thought British values included protecting children? There have been lots of other 15 year old girls persuaded to do awful things yet they were (rightfully) deemed victims. Why not Begum? Why should she not be afforded an opportunity to be brought back home, properly investigated and put on trial for any/all crimes?

I don't want her back either but we don't get to pick and choose when citizens are British nor do we get to pick and choose when rule of laws applies. The part of this that is particularly concerning is the possibility it happened just because Sajid Javid wanted to fire his opening salvo in the tory leadership battle.

Ridiculous argument if you commit, a crime in a foreign say for drugs related offences ie Thailand, you go to prison in Thailand not uk . So her alleged crimes were apparently committed in Iraq so let the Iraqis have her let them try her and sentence according to their law problem solved
