I hate living in Sweden. Tax 50-70~% of your wage if you count sale taxes, low income workers work their whole life and get the same pension as people who have done nothing. All the immigrants have no reason to work since the welfare is so high. Social systems are draining, healthcare systems are draining and school too. The government is pissing away tax money on grants, welfare and the EU.

1, 3 million swedes in working age can't provide for themselves. 4, 7 million is completely outside the workforce. Of the 4 million remaining about half work in the public sector which means 2 million slave, work and provide for 10 million inhabitants.

And now they are raising the retirement age to pay for it all. Just so lazy people can live off welfare and the physical wellbeing off others.

You can’t subsidise irresponsibility and expect people to act responsibly - Thomas Sowell. The problem is you will never hit equilibrium with wealthfare states, there will always be a need for more. The solution is to teach people how to fish, not hand out fish. It’s harder, of course, and requires commitment and sacrifice, but all worthwhile things do. The biggest Scandinavian country has a population roughly equivalent to New York. You can’t compare.

Turns out Scandinavian companies that were very innovative and productive were all founded and did their best work, before the welfare state. The entrepreneurial mindset of the Scandinavians was developed before their welfare state. Not after

I like living in Finland, to me it seems like one of the most capitalist countries in the world, with a property rights index almost on par with Singapore and Hong Kong—without their lack of political rights etc.

Finland does have a "social security net" which I think we would be better off without, but it is so extremely efficient compared to the mesh of policies, regulations, and programs in the United States, that it is hard to complain in comparison.
