Ex fentanyl user here. 115 days and 15 hours clean. I know it's hard to to quit, I was fortunate to get help and flown to california within a day. For those that do not have help, I pray every night that people can find their peace. It's possible to do, you have to want it.

My sister was on the streets in Kensington for 18 months. She almost lost her leg and had an infection around her heart. Today she has 4 years sober. Don't lose hope 🙏 they can recover

465 days sober off fent.. it’s possible. Many rehabs and detoxes later. All it takes is what it takes. Never giving up!

I am from India and this is my first time to come across your channel. I appreciate what you are doing, highlighting the problem and meet real people in the hood. At the moment the only thing I can do is subscribe your channel. Keep up the good work bro

I spent 13 years homeless on heroin/fentanyl down Kensington. I now have 8 years clean. I never thought I would get out of that life but here I am. I now have a great life I don't need for anything. My girlfriend and I got clean together and i couldn't ask for a better life. I hope the best for anyone struggling out there.

I was born and raised in Kensington, I am a recovering heroin addict, I'll have 13 years God willing on January 21st.
Please keep bringing awareness to the pandemic in Kensington.
If there's ever anything I can do to help just let me know! It's absolutely heartbreaking to watch my whole neighborhood just wither away, I would do anything to help

My 32 y/o son is 38 days clean today. I kicked him out last January. It was the hardest thing in my life. I tried helping him since he was 16 to get off the opiates. He had to realize how cold it gets in Ohio. Guess he got tired of sleeping outdoors and got himself into detox and now sober living. I pray that God keeps him sober. 🙏 Slowly I am on speaking terms again. A parents ultimate job is to make sure their child can stand on his own after the parent is gone.

The way how you treat everyone normal and give people an equal voice regardless of their individual hardship is absolutely beautiful. Its a wonderful change of perception.

the fact he wasn’t attacked or pursued (not shown if was) shows that people genuinely want to stop but they don’t have a way out

This really gives us a good idea of what it's like to be addicted to drugs and living on the streets. Most don't want to be out there & say it's pure hell. Thank you for doing this interview so that I can have more compassion for those who are trapped in hell.

More of Tyler Oliveira being a better journalist than entire news networks and publications

You are a brave journalist. This is really good journalism all because you had the courage to go and see for yourself. Thanks for the follow-up.

I was a heroin addict for 22+ years... I'm now 84+ months sober...!!! It all starts from within...! If you don't truly want to get sober, you never will...!!! Make the best decision of your life and get sober today...!!! Sober life is sooo much better...!!! Depend on no one to 'help' you...! It all starts with you and the choices you make...!!! All that I heard was excuses from these addicts... Thanks for sharing... Keep up your awesomeness...!!!
