How I install a Pre-hung exterior door

This is how I install a pre-hung exterior door in under 10 minutes. Like many projects, I'm sure there are many ways to hang a pre-hung door, so leave a comment down below with your tips and tricks. Installing a pre-hung door takes almost no tools and can be done by anyone. Yes anyone. This technique to install pre-hung doors is simple, methodical, and easily done by someone working on their own.

When I install my doors, I always hide the anchor screws under(behind) the weather strip. Finished job looks much more professional.

I like your video and your attitude. Very positive. I have one question I don't think you covered. If the door wasn't plum top to bottom or side to side, what would you do to correct that? Shim as necessary to get it plum or something else?

Assuming I am installing into concrete wall (walkout basement door), the only real difference here is going to be using Tapcons to secure into the concrete itself, right?

I have a solid Mahogany door(frame too) and putting screws through the frame would really make this door ugly. How do I make the door solid without putting screws through the frame?

You’re installing the door backwards should be installing it from the other side facing the door not shimming from the outside
