Find Thay's Necromancy Book
Go to devastated village, take the trap door inside the house. Then find the lever behind three wooden crates, this will move the bookcase. Be careful, you will then have a fairly complicated fight if it is badly started. Remember to rest before this step.

Put all your characters high up and the last to open the middle grave. A skeleton will emerge from the tomb, then going to wake up his other fellow skeletons. Once you've killed all these nice people, remember to search the bodies and then continue the area.

You will be facing a mirror, which will have to be shattered. The easiest will be with a persuasion roll, save and load as needed. On your left will be a room with fireballs, go through turns to easily pick up the book.

Then search the rest of the area, you will have a lever at the back of the room bringing you back to the start of the area!

Find Dark Amethyst
Then go to the level of the well, just next to the trap door. You will have to go through the rope of the well to go down. Continue in the whispering depth area, you will have a fairly simple phase spider fight, on the other hand at the back will be the Phase Matriarch Spider boss. Be at least level 4 if you don't want to spend hours trying to kill him! To get there as easily as possible:

kill the live spiders around it without starting the fight
burn the eggs on the platform on the right and bottom left
if you have enough, burn the eggs at the boss level
Otherwise each egg will be summoned as a baby spider (very annoying!), And will give a hard time during the fight with the boss. Once the area is well prepared, consider doing your buffs and casting a spell to start the fight. The matriarch has these powers:

Be careful, past the 1/3 hp bar, it will become enraged and hit twice per turn, so it can easily kill two of your characters. I advise you to keep all your bursts for this step, and to use your possible scrolls. Also remember to use poison resistance potions if needed!

Once the beast lying on the ground, recover the amethyst at the bottom of the cave and insert it into the book.

Recover the Communication to the Dead spell
Take your character with the most Wisdom, you will have to make three successive wisdom rolls, for information with Wis 16 you had to make 5, then 10, then 15. Once the three rolls have passed, you will have access to the communication skill with the dead. Remember to save because when you miss a roll, the book closes and you will not be able to try your luck again!

A very nice spell, which will add lore and quests in Baldur's Gate 3! The quest is quite complicated to perform but with this guide you will have to be more peaceful!
