i did all the steps, and now that is "repaired" I open it and there is nothing on the file

I downloaded this program and it appears to be free now.
I have a problem in getting this to work. I am running Excel 2000, and am trying to repair a file that has mathematical formulas in it. When I first open the Stellar Phoenix Excel Repair program, a pop-up come up that says the following:
"MS Excel worksheet that contains engineering formulas needs some add-ons to be added manually.
If the sheet you are repairing contains engineering formulas, please include 'Analysis ToolPak' manually from Tools-> Add-Ins"

I then clicked on "Tools, " but I do not see the "Add-ins" option, so I cannot do as it says. When they say "engineering formulas, " do they mean any kind of formula, including just adding and dividing?

So, I went ahead and scanned the corrupted file. After scanning for a few minutes, I get the another pop-up, saying:

"Excel Repair will not continue because one or more instances of Microsoft Excel are currently running. Please close all Microsoft Excel windows and then click Retry."

Well, I do not have ANY excel files open at all, so I do not know why it says this. I am stuck and this is not working for me.

Can you help, or direct me to someone that can? I have to retrieve this file.

Hi Chris! I have a very large excel file that is corrupted. Lots of data but is 7MB, so not that big. I believe the corruption happened when computer just restarted out of nowhere. I downloaded the demo version as it is stated you can view the file to be sure it's what you want, but won't save in demo. Problem is I ran it for 5 hrs and it just sits there with the bar not moving. It hasn't listed any file in the tree on the left to view. How large are the multiple files you tested this on? I appreciate any info as I'm thinking of purchasing Stellar, but want to be sure it can fix my large file. Lots of folks requesting refund since it didn't fix their files. Thanks much!

Hi Chris! Unfortunately Stellar Repair does not seem to work on my corrupted file. It will not give me a preview and will just state: "Status: Selected file is severly damaged. File can't be previewed." Do you have any idea how I can fix it?
