Low Light Comparison - DJI Osmo Pocket 3 vs iPhone

In this video, I am doing a low-light comparison of the new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 compared to the the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 has a 1" sensor and mechanical gimbal that makes it very well suited for capturing in low light situations. The iPhone always does a good job in low light as well. Let me know what you think looks better in this scenario.

The pocket looked so much better. It kept the colours and the shadows. Also, if you look at the footage in the last room before you went outside, the iPhone turns everything blue. I’m surprised you didn’t mention that as it makes the footage look terrible

I was considering getting the DJI Osmo Action 4, but to help save on money, I just bought the DJI Osmo Action 3. Should be getting it in a few days. Eventually, I'd like to get the Osmo Pocket 3.

Outstanding comparison! I’ve been getting frustrated lately with my Hero 9 and have been considering alternatives. I returned from my most recent outing to find out that my last five clips were in time elapse mode 🤬. Fortunately I could go back yesterday and recreate the lost footage. Thank you for this demonstration. The living room comparison did it for me. I’m going to be looking into the Pocket 3 now. 👍🏼😎

Interesting to know field of view angle for both lenses. One looks wider than the other which would capture more available light

Great video as always Shawn. You continue to look great and glad to see you out from behind the camera. After literally years I went from Android to iOS, I'm a bit disappointed in the camera on the 14 Pro Max to be honest. Much preferred the Pocket 3 which I plan to gift myself.

Does the DJI Pocket 3 do decently at night in street light in low light mode? I am also interested in the focus on people's faces. Unfortunately, a mirrorless needs a gimbal which is quite bulky. A phone that films better, such as the iPhone 15 Pro Max, also needs a gimbal both when filming and standing still, especially if you are walking.

Did you do 30fps on both?
30fps is best for low light.

Great comparison. They both looked good.The Pocket 3 had a more warm color tone to me.
The iPhone 14 was a little more crisp, & clear plus iPhone's have come along way on stabilization. It did do a better job on skin tone as well.
Man Idk but you're tempting me to buy this little pocket camera. 1" sensor & Gimbal is a convincer. Nice work Sean and btw love the office set up.

Interesting.. have a look at the floor light at the 3:06 mark. The iPhone makes the light spill look like a crap storm compared to the Pocket 3 which looks smooth and even. Although I do find the pocket 3 is too saturated generally.
