Download, Install, and Connect Pronterface to Ender 3 V2 3D Printer

This video will go through how to download Pronterface to your windows pc. The current version as of this recording is 1.6.0.

In order to connect Pronterface to your 3D printer you need to use device manager to find out what communication (COM) port your printer is and make sure you set the BAUD rate to be the same as what is on Pronterface. I use 115200 as that has given me the most success.

Pronterface can be used for many things but is mainly used for sending gcode directly to your 3D printer. This works great for troubleshooting and calibration.

Hi, thanks for your video. Just a basic question : is it possible to modify the E0 max temp setting via Pronterface instead of going thru the hassle of compiling new firmware, Visual Studio, Arduino IE and the likes? I have 4.2.7 (32 bit) board on my Creality, bootloader is already included. I don't feel comfortable with altering G-codes and flashing process. Thanks very much in advance!

Hello! I have an issue with mine. I'm using an Ender 3 pro with the silent motherboard and a bltouch, trying to set the z offset. Whenever I try to send a command, I get no echo back unless its a command to print data, like M503. I've checked the port rates and they match and the COM is correct. I'm not sure what else to try.

hello im trying to connect my ender 3 max to my computer using pronterface but when I go to device manger I dont have a port section however it seems to show up under Other Devices> USB Serial with a yellow exclamation mark. I tried hitting update drivers but it says it cant find any. I have tried moving it to different usb ports to no avail.

this left me with more problems than answers, my usb doesn't show up in the ports and says I need to install new drivers and I have no idea which ones it needs nor are they on my computer

My Creality Ender 3 does not show up when I connect it to my computer on Windows 11 Pro, I went to Device Manager and had to show Hidden devices in order for it to even show my my Ports, but upon plugging in or unplugging, powering on or off my 3D Printer even changing the cable nothing happens. Prontoface was allowed through both Windows Firewall and Comodo Firewall, and was not blocked by Comodo either.

Hi, I just got a Micro 3D, an dI knwo its old, but I had it working and printed a file recently, now I cannot get Print run to connect. I checked the COM port, adjusted the Baud rate, and it still wont connect, I am getting
Could not connect to COM4 at baudrate 115200:
Serial error: could not open port 'COM4': PermissionError(13, 'Access is denied.', None, 5)
I am not sure what I am doing wrong...

For some reason pronterface does not work on my new (dedicated 3d printer pc) win10 home.

"Failed to execute script pronterface"

It works on my pc and laptop both win 10 pro (laptop is broken tho so I bought new cheap pc)

Hi Kenny, I run a Macbook Pro with OS X 11.1 ( Big Sur ) and it tells me that "Printrun-Mac-18Nov20172.app" needs to be updated!!! any ideas? Cheers.

Hi Rainmaker. my pronterface won't show up under the "port" tap.
When i go to the windows device manager. it says: unknowen USB device (requested device desribtion failed)
How did you make your printer show op under "port"?
I do allready have the CH340 driver.
Do i need any drivers?

Guys you may also need CH340 USB to serial driver, if your system can't recognize printer. You can find it on support.th3studio
