I didn't cry when I first went to kindergarten, but I do remember asking "mom why are these kids crying? Should I be worried?" thinking the teachers smacked them or something lol

When he said mom don’t cry, so the child don’t start to cry too, it is so accurate. When the youngest of our children went to kinder, I couldn’t stop crying. I try not to let him see me, so he would not cry too! By the way he never cried 😅

The worst thing are parents who refuse to leave. Parents continuing to stay make all the kids cry! Be strong moms and dads and walk out. Your leaving teaches your kids to trust.

One of the places I worked had a "boohoo breakfast" for kindergarten parents. Parents and kids went to the gym. Kids said goodbye and were led to their classrooms. Parents stayed and had breakfast, got brief announcements, etc. It was so much easier for everyone than saying goodbye in the classroom. Much fewer tears.
