How to increase dedicated vRam on intel HD Graphics (without BIOS) [still working in 2019]

Simplest way I've found to increase your dedicated video RAM. My laptop, as most do, doesn't have a BIOS setting to increase the dedicated vRAM, so this is how you do it if that option is unavailable.

Thanks for watching, and I hope this helps.

This only makes computer to 'show' how much vram u have...in reality it doesnt change so dont expect performance boost

I may have found a solution for the people saying it doesn't work. If it's not working it probably means you have a 64-bit system. Use QWORD instead of DWORD and it should work fine.

I may've miscalculated default vRAM. 128Mb (x2 RAM sticks) = 256Mb, either way, its a significant difference afterwards.

intel HD 610, I put it at 512, as this tutorial explains, but I had 1536 MB, however it works.
thanks 😁

Setting shared ram to vram means it takes away from usable ram from your cpu to give it to your video card. If your computer is cpu limited instead of gpu limited, then allocating it to the gpu will lower performance. You can always change the value to what it was initially if this is the case.

yo, this video deserves to be shared around. I especially appreciate your tutorial because I think it basically does what this "phdgds.exe" thing does except you don't need to trust the file you're launching. here you do it yourself directly.

thank you so much
for those who arent working, if you are running on 64 bit, set it to Q-word instead, and depending on the amount of ram you have, set it to that amount. (I had to set mine to 1024 for it to work)

I've been ignoring this tweak for so long cus i thought this was pointless but surprisingly this is the only tweak that fixed GTA V stuttering /lag on my laptop.

Thank you. It worked and my games run significantly better. Great video!

(512 should go in decimal not hexidecimal to those having an issue with having over 1000 ram)
