How great it is to see the community coming together for those affected by the hurricanes. As always, thanks for your report!

Had a speed bump at my campsite last week and we watched 100 campers come and go. We watched all the GD 5th wheels and did not see any flexing or other trouble signs. A few of the towables one being a GD had several inched of tongue movement. It was crazy to watch the camper box move up and down while the tongue stayed steady.

Thanks for the deep dive on the Grand Design situation. The misinformation machine runs with a simplistic, black-and-white, version of the story because social media is space limited. This is a very complicated situation, but nobody has the attention span to absorb all the facts. The public just sees concern and engagement trolling. And now I know that if I can across any "class action" hysteria and it doesn't specifically call out that this is not a consumer action, I will block and move on.

Keep up the great work!

I can’t believe a family lost their home in a hurricane and then someone turns around and steals their Rv home that they got from from the last hurricane got it stolen from them from someone from this hurricane. What were the odds. Wow that Rv park looked pretty bad from the hurricane. Sad. Wow mice infestation at a state park wow and the park closes.
Wow a lawsuit with Grand Design. Thank you Jason for all this information.

It warms the heart to see the camping community come together after these devastating hurricanes. Hope the camera man is not Why were they standing on top of a motorhome? 🤔 Michelle

I always enjoy Jason's investigative journalism. Interesting details on the article that he found.

We had a recall on our GD for frame issues which creaked terribly and of course nothing wrong with it they said. I had a feeling this would be a bigger issue down the road but too bad it’s benefiting the investors instead of the customers. We’re the ones left paying on something that is not road worthy.

Looked like the camera man stepped on the skylight. That camera is worth more than the repair to the coach 😁 Thanks for all the great info

I’ve been calling for a class action against these companies that have known issues like frame defects. Come on Lawyers, get off the couch and get rolling.

Frame Flex is not just an issue for Grand Design. My 2013 Montana has the same flex! It's applicable to trailer frame manufactured by Lippert.

Class action lawsuits against RV manufacturers need to happen to the point where these RV manufacturers loose massively and get a wake-up call and fix their designs, processes, and customer service approach. They also need to implement at least an ISO 9001 quality/business management system.

I watched a you tube video yesterday, it said that Hunter Media has invested in Winnebago but they are short selling. If Winnebago stock drops, they make money. No idea if it is accurate or not.

My parents have a Grand Design (or poor design) RV. No frame issues yet, but nearly everything else has had issues. All of the issues started happening just out of warranty of course. The power awning is dead. I have had to troubleshoot and replace several electrical outlets. The RV is a hot mess.

Good choice with a lav mic for a video. The big Shure SM7B doesn’t need more camera time.

The RV USA industry is at a critical juncture as hundreds of thousands purchased new and used RVs for the first time durning the pandemic and reality of how poorly USA RVs are built and serviced quickly came to the forefront!

The RV industry’s self regulating board has legislators and special interest PACs in their organization.

Thus, Bills that have been proposed to require massive improvements in laws that require the RV industry to significantly improve safety, quality control and consumer rights such as enhanced Lemmon laws never get passed or even out of legislators committees.

Politicians chase the money at the expense of the consumer.

Well done on the Grand Design story! As you started with the story, I started googling Hunterbrook and Rosen to see if they were “in bed together”. Then found the New Yorker article on Hunterbrook’s sleazy game…I glance back at your video and yup, there’s the article on your screen. Class action lawsuits are great for lawyers, and almost never benefit any plaintiffs in any meaningful way. Thanks for your research on this.

My opinion after 40 years of RV’ing: Yes, I think there is a design problem with some of these trailers and Fifth-wheels, but there can also be problems exacerbated or created by how they are driven, loaded, and cared for. Over the past week I’ve seen several rigs overloaded, or driving WAY to fast, have the wrong tow setup, or the wrong tow vehicle.

Do the manufacturers need to step up? Absolutely. But if I screw it up it’s my fault. I DID OVERLOAD and break a frame. A very expensive lesson, so I’m sensitive to the possibility.

That’s just my opinion. Thank you

I don't want to imply that there isn't a frame failure problem. I have seen videos where the required bolts were not placed and I wonder whether the frames truly support the floor plans they are used for. However, recently, my husband and I drove our truck to High Rock Bay, east of Copper Harbor Michigan. The road had holes 4+ feet deep and 10-15 ' wide, with rocks jutting out of the 1-3' of water. When we reached the end of the road, someone had towed their E-Pro trailer there. You can't tell me that at least one of the welds was compromised. There also were different color fluids on the gravel, after some of the holes. People in cars were bragging at how they went through and made it. Little do they know, that they have a tow in their future. That doesn't include the possible electrical problems in the next few months. People have little common sense these days.

Okay question is: How bad was the CAMERA damaged? We heard the cameraman got cut up and has a significant sprain.
