Old vs New Modern Warfare Makarov

On a more serious note, I do like this new Makarov, however with the story being 3 hours and his story kind of making no sense on why he is so hellbent on taking control over [ INSERT COUNTRY NAME ] and framing the IDF to get Russia to do what? Makarov had 3 missiles with chemical warheads, and launched them at some random Russian base that one of the main character happened to be at.

And the flashback, why was Makarov at Verdansk? What was he doing there? Did he just want to do a bit of trolling? I get it he's the bad guy, but that attack was completely pointless in the story, and before people said it was important for warzone, IT'S NOT. I do not care what happens to a random city in a gamemode I have no interest in playing.

I really wanted to like this new Makarov, but he feels more of a James Bond villain. "haha Captain Price, I have placed these something something missiles/bombs that you have to stop... oh you defused them? AH MY PLAN HAS BE FOILLED AGAIN! UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN CAPTAIN PRICE"

OG Makarov never needed much time on screen, but when he appeared you only knew bad things would happen

New Makarov needed an instruction manual to start a small fire.

Old Makarov needed a matchstick to light up the world in flames.

This Makarov is a Perfectionist, no wonder why all of his plans failed

While the OG one is the true Villain that you won't forget

Literally my argument against people who think the old games are dumb.

I can definitely say that OG MW trilogy had a very deep lore compared to the new trilogy.

The new Makarov looks like he'll destroy Europe with facts and logic.

the 2009 Makarov voice actor was actually good compared to the new one

Shepherd's "he has no boundries" speech seemed like a "bad guy bad" line of exposition and then it hits us with No Russian and it's like "Oh holy shit, bad guy is Really bad"

It's really funny going back to the old CoDs because while you're playing to new ones you're thinking "Ah, the old ones weren't that complex, they were just about set pieces and action movie stuff".

Then you go back and play them and you're like, "Holy shit they set this up really well" or "There's actually tension here" or "This mission isn't super slow and boring"

Also the old Makarov was actually a threat who got shit done and almost disappeared after the end of MW3, only dying because Price went off the grid and record to hunt him down himself

Old Shepherd would've obliterated New Shepherd in a heartbeat, probs less than that.

The first guy sounds like he has no rules, no boundaries, like he doesn't flinch at torture human trafficking or genocide.

Soap trusted you. I thought I could too. So why, in blood hell, does Makarov know you!?

The og MW felt like an early 2000s action movie formulated into a militaristic feel in a video game, The ringing of your ears every time a tank fired, bullets whizzing over your head as you creep your way up cover to cover, seeing 80% of the cast killed off with intent and purpose.
the to compare shepards motives in each mw2:
"I lost 50, 000 men in the blink of an eye, and the world just fuckin watched"
"WhEn wE sHiT wE bUrY iT"

In the OG "No Russian" Makarov and his group not only didn't speak Russian, but also spoke in their best American accents, even in private among themselves. They're really deep into their roles in not being Russian for this diabolical terrorist attack.

In the new "No Russian", not only they spoke Russian at each other, but also in their Russian accents too, would've made more sense if they spoke Arabic or something instead(?) like literally all of them even in private at each other? After all just like in the OG it's a false flag operation too, so at least roleplay as the group you're framing for the attack and be extra with it?

Old Makarov also ended up being a better portrayal of Russian ultra-nationalist ridden with resentment towards the west, given the recent events.

I loved it when Makarov said "It's Modern Warfaring time"
and then blew up the money that was funding the game
