Sir when we will put lemda=1 then x1, x2 and x3 will be 2, 1, 4 instead of -2, -1, -4?

I couldn't help but notice that in the final diagonal matrix the diagonal elements are the eigen values. Is there a short trick to find the diagonal matrix. cause anyway my exams are mcq so no one checks the rough work.

In the second example, with eigen value of 0 shouldn't the eighevectors be (-14, -1, 2) becuase for the 2nd row ( 0 x (x1) = 0)

Sir, are lamda values should be written in an ascending or descending . In the first example you have written ( 5, 2, 1) and in the second one it is (0, 1, 1). Please clarify my doubt. Is order really important.
