In this video Radio Zane of Simple Green Tech looks at the Behringer UM2 vs UMC22. Both the Behringer UM2 and the Behringer UMC22 are 16 bit audio interfaces with a single mic preamp and instrument input. The Behringer UMC22 has a Midas preamp and the Behringer UM2 has a Xenyx preamp. The differences really are in the design/layout. The Behringer UM2 is plastic with the control knobs on the top of the Audio Interface. Where the Behringer UMC22 is metal and has the control knobs on the front of the audio interface. The audio quality of both of these USB audio interfaces is very similar. You decide which one is better for you.

@simplegreentech sir I have UMC22....I had installed the driver from behringer site....now I am using Cubase5 ....My UMC22 was connected to my PC, sound also coming from interface but I am not able to record it....when I tried to record it, my interface doesn't received it....the wave is totally blank on the screen

So, the direct monitoring button mutes the PC, and you cannot listen to a backing track from the PC at the same time?
Also, are the two inputs centre panned when direct monitoring, or does one output on the left and the other on the right?

I’m thinking about either the behringer umc22 or the Scarlett solo 3rd gen. is the extra cost of the Scarlett interface worth it for the audio quality. I’m just gonna record vocals that’s all
