Found my 2021 Onn 4k box recently and started using it again, but this one has me intrigued. Still waiting for a proper Shield replacement

We hooked up a USB webcam to ours and ran Google Meet on it! The trick is plugging the camera in, then rebooting, and it worked great.

In 5 min I got my answer about Onn 4K Pro device not being a better than Nvidia Shield for GAMING--even with 10 Gig wifi! 😂Just the fact that you ACTUALLY TESTED this for us unlike so many other click-bait Ytubers is so AWESOME! Guys PLEASE SUB to this guy if you havent already. He's one of the few tech reviewers that ACTUALLY TESTS these devices like a Pro-sumer and ANSWERS questions we all want to know unlike 95% of Ytubers. He's old-school (Apple II era) 🍎 NO BS, Honest about the pros AND CONS. *His Nvidia Shield video on AMZ was by far the best and gave me info I havent seen anywhere! I watched 20+ videos before I see any details like he delivers. I will definitely click/buy thru his links to support him. 😎👍

@LonSeidman I personally have tested audio DACs with my Onn Pro, and have gotten some to work! I have tested my Presonus Audiobox USB and Audinate Dante AVIO-USB, both working fully out of box.
The only DAC I tested that did not work was the Behringer UMC202HD.

Why test it with exFAT but not NTFS? I imagine most who connect any type of external drive will be in NTFS so that would have been useful to know.

I've tried an 8GB Seagate (powered), but it says the drive is corrupt. Same message for two 4TB SSDs (Crucial x10, Sandisk extreme portable), and a 2TB Crucial x10 (all unpowered). The only thing that worked in my test was a 256GB Sandisk Extreme Go thumb drive (unpowered). All are formatted exFAT, and all work in my Windows Laptop, iPad, or plugged directly into the Android TV port. Also, I tried with a USBC to USBA adapter and a cable with USBC on one end and USBA on the other. I really want this to work because I otherwise love the device. Also, I'm looking forward to the release of the new Google TV Streamer.

This is probably the best streaming box I've used to date I've had Nvidia shield pro Google Chromecast and Firestick. My downstream numbers are very fast on this box about twice as much as the Google Chromecast

is it possible to use the box also for sound output via its inbuilt speaker when the box is connected to a speaker less monitor

I got one. When connected to a Bluetooth speaker it will sometimes default to its own built in speaker for audio. It’s a glitch. Or it won’t give any sound at all until you disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth.

Lon, I can't get my USB to work with anything. Is there a setting I'm not turning on? I tried a mouse, a USB drive, and a video file. nothing works.

You mentioned you were unsure about devices that had a button for remote finder. Well, my Roku Ultra has a button on the side that, when pressed, triggers a remote finder ping. Not sure if it has other functions, like factory reset.

Thanks for the update Lon. Going to pass on this device. No reason to upgrade from the previous model right now especially if they can’t standardize on a remote. Why pay the same price for a less useful remote?

Is there a way to turn off the feature when I ask Onn 4K pro Google a question it turns on the tv and speakers to answer the question? If I tell it to turn something on it does without turning everything on, but I cannot find a setting to not have it to just answer using the Onn speaker and not the tv, etc.
