I actually find the sound of cicadas to be comforting and nostalgic rather than annoying. Sure I don't live in an area where they are, but whenever I hear them, whether it is in a show or in a game or something, I feel this sense of relief somehow it's weird

I love cicada. My country only has them at the end of April til late June.
I’m a teacher so cicada sound means summer is coming.

I prefer cold weather. Cold winters and rain do not bother me at all.
The summers in Japan are stifling 🥵

spring is the best time to visit by a mile, it’s not too hot or cold and you can see the beautiful cherry blossoms

I live in the DC metro area. Sounds like home. Hot, stuffy summers ☑️ Rains from hurricane season late summer to early fall ☑️ cicadas chirping all summer ☑️ Cherry Blossoms gifted by Japan ☑️

Just because you feel the cicadas' chirping is just noise doesn't mean that people all over the world feel the same way. It is embarrassing for a wise person to force their narrow-minded interpretations of a different culture on others or to lecture them on the basis of the limited knowledge.

The very reason I would love to go to Japan is actually summer, the sound of cicada actually reminds me of my childhood, since I was born and raised in the capital I could only hear these summer insects once in a year in a countryside vacation my love for nature and weather drags me to Japan 💙

Ive been to Japan in february years ago... less tourist pretty manageable. April during cherry blossoms was super crowded.

The weather is crazy these days. 5 years ago, yes, guerilla storms come and go quickly, but for the past couple years, they stay for hours with impressive lightning skills. So yeah, whenever you come here during the summer, just remember the sudden storms might last forever (and happen everyday)

Come to Japan anytime of the year and experience something different

I’m heading to Japan in April right as the blossoms will be blooming. Thats actually the big reason I picked that date a year and a half ago. I can’t wait

I’ve lived in Japan for about 7 years and I’d say July and August are the worst two months to come. (hot and humid, rain in July). As for the best time I’d say March and April, but if you want to avoid crowds of tourists, I think March is better. You’ll miss the cherry blossom season but get comfortable weather and fewer tourists than in April.

For Japanese people, the sounds of cicadas and crickets are comforting. When you hear these calls, you can feel the seasons
