With regards to the Diamond Planet being worth 26.9 Nonillion. Surely, if we could get there (which we cant), and mine it (which again, we cant)...wouldn't Diamonds just become worthless, due to fact that there would just be an endless supply of them ? I always thought that items like gold, and diamonds were worth so much because of their rarity. So surely the planet would only be worth that much, until we got there. Then it would be worth next to nothing =9

Very few people would care about a diamond encrusted planet considering that diamonds are incredibly common on Earth. Literally the only reason why a diamond costs hundreds or thousands of dollars, instead of less than 10 dollars, is because DeBeers has a monopoly on their distribution and availability.

Gold and Platinum are extremely valuable because of their rarity. Diamonds are valuable because a corrupt organization wants them to be. If a competitor arises, they flood the market with similar quality diamonds, selling them for drastically less than the competitor, forcing them out of business. Rinse repeat.

What about the Bootes Void? The massive void, 300 million light years in diameter, has around 60 known galaxies in it, when its size relative to the rest of the universe means there should be thousands.
