The thumbnail reminds me of the old story about an Egyptologist who believed he discovered the petrified padangus of a pharaoh, but further analysis proved some creature had crept into the crypt and crapped.

The rock with the 3 prong plug. Anybody ever think of plugging it into something?

How is it that the person who found the strange, ancient rock with electrical connectors embedded in it just “happens” to have been an electrical engineer? Sounds suspicious to me especially considering he wants to sell it for so much money.

The Bouvet Island lifeboat was from a large Soviet whaling vessel. At the time such vessels carried scientists, and a party went ashore for research purposes. Bad weather set in and they were trapped there for three days. When there was a break in the weather, they were pulled off by helicopter, leaving their boat behind.
