I've been through a dust storm like that in the early 80s living in Arlington TX. It lasted for 3-4 days and you couldn't see a foot ahead of you. I felt like i was living on another planet !

Okay this is what I needed... Severe thunderstorms here in Texas causing the power to go off. And this is what I need to to scratch the itch that is boredom

In 1959, I was traveling back to Texas with my parents, we had been on vacation in Arizona. We had just left Albuquerque New Mexico when we saw what looked like night time closing in on us from behind. It was a massive Haboob (dust storm). My dad pulled off the road since he knew he wasn’t going to be able to see anything. We had to windows rolled up tight and dust still got in. It was blowing so hard it ruined the paint on the rear and driver’s side of our DeSoto FireFlight hardtop. Dad had to get the car repainted after we got home.
