Amazon allows people to sell counterfeit items on Amazon all day iv bought 2 items that were counterfeit now I refuse to buy anything that’s expensive or important

Recent story in WSJ. Amazon makes the seller eat the loss. Big problem. Especially with third party seller who may not find out about fraud until weeks after refund is issued.

That is stealing. It is illegal and immoral to steal no matter who you are stealing from. I used to drive Uber to get extra income for my kids' college tuition. People used all sorts of scams to get their ride for free. They thought they were stealing from the billion-dollar corporation - Uber. But, Uber never suffered the loss. I, as the independent driver using my own car and my own time took the loss.

This is total bulshit me as an Amazon seller has no control of the return process whatsoever and I get fraudulent returns all the time and I can't do anything about it which is why I am probably not going to be selling on Amazon anymore

They eventually notice it as people get greedy, allow them to keep doing it, and then viciously prosecute them for fraud when they’ve built up a strong enough case.
