Of course he didn`t recognize or remember me but I was grateful for the opportunity to thank him for his service. You may forget the people that you help but the people that you helped never forget you.

My brother is a police officer, just a few years in the game, and I truly hope he gains this kind of wisdom throughout his career. He’s an empathetic, caring dude, so he has that going for him, and I just really hope his career does more good than harm to his character. I’ve seen cops become shells of who they used to be because of the horrible things they see and deal with… and I’ve seen others like Jim who, even decades in, try their best to make a small difference every day, both on and off duty. Police departments need to prioritize officers’ mental health care. It is only with a clear view of the world that one can begin to change it. Thanks for your service, Jim ❤️💙

This was a great episode, I am a teacher and was happy to hear some working in the trenches with the tough people in society. He is so positive it is inspiring. As a teacher in an urban district it is so hard. We work with these people as children and it is an almost impossible cycle to get out. It is a job that is hard not to burn out in.
