I have a friend who recently bought a house outside Stanthorpe and moved there. I love every visit seeing the old buildings and houses. It’s such a charming town.

My family and I settled in Rosewood 42 years ago after my service in the RAAF and we have passed Glendalough immeasurable times with wonder. It was very overgrown when we first saw it and in recent years it has been a lot of effort has gone into it's clearing of the yard. We always wondered what it was like inside.

That church in rosewood is fantastic! I hope it gets the funding it needs.

If you like country drives, you should check out the Stonehouse in Moore! It is having an open day and it's sesquicentary on the weekend of the 27th of July. It's a real treasure for those who love local history.

The modernisation of older houses in the 20s and 30s definitely adds further dimensions to researching, doesn't it? Fascinating, thanks.

I like using the corley explorer page to see all the houses I used to live in, and what they looked like in the 60s-70s...

That is a huge timber church but beautiful nonetheless.
An ABC report in 2020 said it is going to be restumped if they can raise the money so the fence may be a sign that works are about to commence.
Fingers crossed. 🤞🤞

I have family who live in Rosewood and I've always visited since I was a kid. Two families live at the western end of William St. and have done so for a few decades. I love that place. I'll have to check out 'Glendalough'. There is so much of my family history in SEQLD. My Great-Grandfather was James Palmer - the lighthouse keeper on Moreton Island. I'm probably as obsessed as you are about the history of homes, streets, etc - have been since a child. Fascinating what you can find when you go down the rabbit holes. Love these videos! Thank you.

I was very interested in the section on Dutton Park. I actually had people stop at our house in Bower St who were looking for Wachumba house. Thanks for your videos.

Until I was 17 I lived just up the road from Bardon House - never got to go inside.

The coloured porphyry stone street curbing in New Farm comes from a mine that is now the Spring Hill State School.

People who live in Dutton Park call Deighton as in "die", long i sound. And Tillot is stressed on the second syllable as in tiLOT. It would be nice to know where Lindon House was located - the home of Lot 190 on that map and the street it was named after. The house named after Grove street still exists at the end of Lindon.

My wife and I nearly bought an equally impressive old mansion in Rosewood in a less prominent position on the other side of the roundabout. The town has a rich history.
