When I was younger I had a group lesson and this Karen named Cora came and almost made one of the horses get ran over by a car and hurt people. She wasn’t aloud near horses ever again and wasn’t aloud anyone near the place were we took the lesson. 👁👄👁

I use to run my own professional riding stable. I had to turn away customers that would show up in high heel boots when I clearly said riding boots (either western or English). One teen was horrified when she found out part of our arena had composted horse manure in it. Her comment was "I am standing in WHAT?" At no point did I ever give the student the choice of what horse to ride or what saddle to use. That was all determined at the sign up interview and evaluation of their experience. Most of my clients were wonderful people. The A*holes were quickly eliminated from my program (they would call for another lesson only to find that I was booked solid for the next 2 months). I was successful enough that I could turn people away.

Tips for young/new riders: If you fall off, keep holding the reins if you out on a hack, so ur horse doest run away or get lost, but if your runs away, let go straight away!

If you are riding a horse, and he/she takes off, turn it in a tight circle, it wont be able to gallop around in a tight circle

LOL. I haven't met a Karen yet whilest I was at the riding school.

Thankfully.

I 100% support the message of safety and listening to the staff. I once had to assist on the trek from hell, lots of intermediate people on extremely fresh and stabled horses (it gets very wet in winter, the fields can't sustain them when it gets churned up). I was due to ride a horse well wasn't the first pick as something completely safe.

But I spotted one person on a small mare that had a reputation for being trouble in winter. I went to ask the staff if I could ride the mare instead becaust I had a terrible feeling.

Boy it was a good call. She threw everything she could at me from the get-go. Had half the clients turn white as a sheet considering I was riding out random crow hops and fly bucks; trying to reassure that they're fine. I'm fine. Use a stern voice with the mare because she was pretty young. XD

I ached all over by the time I came back (miraculously didn't fall off). Had to immediately get on another horse that was almost never used for the public because of his anxiety and unpredictability. I was actually HAPPY to get on him since I knew the worst he'd do with me is bolt (and I just had to ride it out).

dude there is this one karen at my barn bro, im leasing a gorgeous mare named Miley and her daughter is such a brat and kept complaining and making snarky remarks about how she wanted to ride her and how she did western lessons on her before and her mom literally was like "its ok you can lease her too" and i was like wtf thats not how it works its a full lease not a half thankyou, and now the girl wants to lease pretty much everyone else's' lease horse.
