I'm happy to see Goliath on here, even though I think Raptor and GL have pretty good drops and the Beasts 2nd drop is awesome. Steel Force or any Morgan hyper are good picks. Silver bullet too

Raptor? It has an amazing first drop, evidenced by its popularity tbh. The pre-drop flows amazingly into the tight outward bank of the first drop. The angle actually brings you out over the midway, and the speed gain right after is extremely hype. Imo this was actually one of the more original drops on an invert. Nice video idea though. I think great drops don't need to be steep neither very fast.

OMG Goliath at SFMM. That used to be my home park and I was so hyped to ride that coaster. It was an Airtime Free, Rampy, Bore.

I disagree with you on Beast's second first drop as well. The shallow angle with the tiny tunnel at the end is actually of the more unique "first" drops out there and builds anticipation. By the end of it, you'ree hauling while hoping to have enough space to make it through the tunnel.

Silver Bullet at Knott's is the worst first drop for an invent. It was the first coaster I thought of from my list. Goliath at SFMM and Titan at SFOT aren't great either. No air time. Those would be 3 of worst for me.

Omg how is Silver Bullet not on this list? Lol. Worst first drop ever.

I actually quite like the Beasts 2nd big drop. You slowly build up speed, and see that big helix, which kind of creates antisipation

Valravn SHOULD have an amazing first drop, but the vests take away any airtime that would've happened. Seeing as the main gimmick of a dive coaster is the first drop, and valravn can't even do that, I'm gonna say valravn

I actually really like Gemini’s drop. I also like Raptor’s drop too.

Ironically, the thumbnail is not even a first drop 🤣 it’s the Beast’s second drop. Smart Alec comment aside, the beast’s second drop looks bad on paper but MAN does it pack a punch

Ok so I haven't ridden goliath but I have been on titan. I think the first drop is underrated. It still literally feels like a drop and it lasts a long time

All drops on rollercoasters are a solid 10/10 in my opinion, even the ones that I haven't ridden yet. Goliaths first drop is not the best drop in the world, but I have a wild time and I keep my hands up while going down and I still feel butterflies in my stomach when I'm on Goliath. Is it a good coaster, no but I have a great time on it and I ride it everytime I visit. Solid 10/10 and it's in my top 3 at the park. Disagree if you like, but that's my opinion. And eventually when I ride other hypers, especially b&m hypers in the future, my opinion on Goliath at six flags magic mountain will never change.

Good video! I like both of Beast's drops though.

haven’t ridden any of the other ones on this list but i have to disagree with green lantern. it’s at my home park so i may have a soft spot, but there’s no denying that the drop has lots of potential. on most of my rides it’s usually just ok and super forceful at the pullout but back row is something special. if you can look past the rattle and the stand up position doesn’t bother you too much, then it’s actually pretty crazy. back row rides have given me some pretty wild airtime pops on the drop and a couple other moments throughout the ride. and it’s sooo forceful

Personally Raptor's drop isn't that bad like most people say it is in my opinion the first drop on Raptor packs a punch seriously.

I remember when mean streak was new…it had a much better first drop…and you actually got airtime on the end hills. Then the track started wearing, and they had to add the trims…then the ride sucked.

I’m so glad the gravity group figured out how to make rides like voyage maintainable…

I don't understand how Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain is on the list. With how tall the drop is, how fast you speed up as you go down the track and with how you dive into what looks like a very narrow underground tunnel at the bottom and then shoot right back up the other side, it's easily one of my favorites for sure.

You should look for some coasters outside your country. If you want some bad drop examples, look at Coaster Express at Parque Warner (Madrid, Spain) or Silver Bullet at Knott's Berry Farm.

I have a weird love of Goliath's first drop. You're right in that it's forceless but the gradual acceleration just makes it feel like a longer, bigger drop than it actually is. Definitely not one of the best drops out there but I wouldn't call it one of the worst either.
That's obviously Big Apple/Manhattan Express. Go to hyper coaster heights all for a 76 foot shallow angle first drop that somehow still manages to be painful.

Know your facts about the Beast, the first lift hill was designed to go slow in order for the train on the course to ascend the 2nd lift hill, 1st drop is 135 feet underground
