I'm not a low income individual, and bought a 2000 Jeep Cherokee sport over all this crap all brands across the board are selling. Buying a cheap vehicle doesn't make someone "poor" or all they can afford!!

we have two 2000 Grand Cherokees with 4.7 v8's one with Quadratrac and 156, 000 miles... never broke down... and the other one with SelecTrac and 211, 000 miles on it. Only replaced radiator, water pump, battery and exhaust. Neither has left us stranded anywhere! Y'all go ahead and hate on the 4.7 as much as you want, it leaves more for us. Neither of them have any blowby, no leaks and neither burns a drop of oil...

I hated Chrysler and swore I’d never own an SUV. Got put in a desperate position a couple years back and had to either accept a 2003 Cherokee, or get used to walking. The Jeep made my opinion turn a full 180. At one point I had a 5 year run with it where it only needed ONE repair; a power steering hose for like 70 bucks. I never looked back. We now own 3 of them. Most reliable, fun, comfortable and capable vehicle I’ve ever seen. It’s too bad that, after the XJ and WJ, they nerfed it… turning the Cherokee into a gated community mom grocery getter.

304xxxm on mine, got her last week and have almost fully restored her inside. Runs perfectly with almost no issues, can't use the 4WD but as a Florida resident I won't need it much, and the sunroof is sealed so it doesn't leak. I'm loving driving it so far

1999 Grand Cherokee with 4.7 v8 and 217 k mikes running well and has gotten me through a lot of snow its my daily driver I have only ones it for a few months and it’s my first ever jeep so we will see how it does

I dayli drive the 2 wheel drive version, it was parked for two years, Blew a radiator hose kept runnin heated up all the way to 260 degrees got home making like a clank clank noise . I fixed the hose and radiator and it runs flawlesly

2004 4.0 189, 000 on mine had it 10 yrs no major issues at all window regulators brakes often, few small interior thing but it run great very reliable.

Bought a 99 WJ 4 wheel drive with the 4.0L and 141, 000 miles from a neighbor for $500. Replaced the axle seals, front half shafts and brakes, everything else checked out as solid. I only replaced the front axle shafts because the boots were gone and the u-joints were full of crud and no telling how bad they were. The leather seats were trash, but hey, slip on seat covers work great for me. Other than that, I got me a nice little buggy to go tooling around in the boonies with with minimal investment.

They have the power to pull most anything you will need to pull, but the brake system makes it a dangerous task at times.

Sold my 93 XJ with over 300K because the floor was rotting. Sometimes I wish I woulda just patched the floor. I replaced it with a WJ 2001. 4.0 same 4 wd as yours. 280k. Go anywhere, do anything. I keep getting it repaired. Cheaper than a car payment.

2001 Jeep grand Cherokee 4.7 v8. I bought it 2011 with 122,
000 miles I think it has145, 000. PCM 3 OF THEM, CV FRONT DRIVERS SIDE SHAFT, 2 OR 3 CHAMSHAFT SENSORS 1 OXYGEN SENSOR 2 POWER STEERING PUMPS, Engine harmonic balancer pulley, now it has a antifreeze leak when I shut it off, it needs the passenger side CV shaft and the differential rear. It has been broke down more then I have been able to drive it. I would like to sale it but I don't want someone coming back and burn my house down lol.

My 2008 jeep commander with the 4.7 blew up around 249k miles and it was beat on all its life. A great SUV
