How to Replace the Spur Gear | Traxxas X-Maxx

Follow these steps to change the spur gear in your Traxxas X-Maxx.

X-Maxx has been designed to allow easy access to the slipper clutch and gears. Use the guide under the motor to set the perfect gear mesh.

there's a few things she didn't mention.
1) before you can take out the spur gear and shaft, the pinion gear has to come off first. remove the small set screw then you can remove the spur gear assembly. also, when reinstalling make sure both the bearings sit in the grooves and when installing the pinion gear back on the shaft, the small set screw has to be tightened on the flat side of the shaft.
2) make sure when lining up the pins on the motor and then tightening the 4 screws back tightened and you have the spur gear and pinion gear installed, rotor the wheels to make sure there is no binding. everything should spin freely before putting everything back together. if you don't check that the pinion and spur gear spin freely you will destroy the pinion spur gear and motor.

Hi, i have change the gear to 25/46t but im not sure about the pin system how its programing. The pins are on D on left side and D on right side? Is it correct?

I just 22t pinion and 50t spur, but Im hearing a clicking noise, I'm guessing the gears aren't meshing properly, anyone has that problem???
