You fixed the road, not the drainage issue

Needs a ditch and swale on the opposite side. You'll still get water erosion otherwise. Most likely sitting water on your road.

Better off tracking it in with the rubber tire. The tracks spread out the weight of the machine, the tire concentrates it.

There is a pond at the bottom of the hill. Gravel-driveways require a 4% crown to properly drain. With that pond you probably should have quite large swales so that any water you do get is ponded in a large enough area for the grass to filter it as it sheet-flows across the landscape.

From an Operating Engineer's Pro Tip, always place the blade BEHIND you when you are digging. It provides more leverage for the bucket and allows you to not only see better up close, but also allows your bucket to travel farther.
The only time you want the blade in front of you is when you are actually pushing material with it.

As a Railroader myself, where did you get those ties ? We seem to be always missing a lot of ties from our track LOL you don't happen to know anything about that do you LOL anyway good job done!!

The tractor will give you better compaction, fill the bucket it will help as well.

So when you put railroad ties down you must put a gravel bed to put the ties on top if not the will rot

Well, it does the job, but wouldn't you need to stake the railroad ties into the ground somehow to prevent lateral shifting over time?

I found that it's very easy to drive sharpened rebar into these things if you have a small jackhammer
