Given the cost to coverage and durability, I think I want to start buying that Sakrete and start patching the bad potholes around my neighborhood.

Just viewed this and figured I'd go with your recommendation for the #1. But since this review was done in 2015 and it is now 2021, the price has gone up to $90.

While not one of the items compared in this video, I have had great success with Road Rescue Asphalt Repair. It is a different consistency than other cold patches but if used as directed and compacted with a vehicle tire, it works great and only costs around $13-$15 a bag.

Cold mix never hardens. It is just sticky gravel. It works quite well in potholes at have square edges, not so good for extremely shallow potholes or depressions with no defined edge. It has high compression strength and zero tensile strength. So it doesn't tolerate tires being turned on it.

The aquaphalt looks interesting but its price is not justifiable. In my experience the cheaper stuff works fine. For one it really helps to have a defined edge and compact it well. Secondly even though the bag tells you not to seal coat it, this makes it last exponentially longer. I normally wait a couple months, and then seal coat over it. I’ve got a few patches that are going on 10 years old and still holding up well.

Big question at this time of year: Is it worth trying to do it Now? Or should I wait until after the Winter? (do they recommend Summer for such repairs?)

Additional info: I live in Ontario, and it is already rather cool out there this year.

Has anyone tried a patch and added a water activated adhesive, like concrete glue?

Very suspicious of this tho. CR (in the past) I had tried to watch their info and stopped because I was not a paying subscriber. I used to search in google filtering out (yes you could do that) CR for that reason.
